Yesterday had all the makings of a super productive day. Everything all planned and laid out.
Eli was at kindy.
I was all set for action... ...but my head just said 'nope'. Exhausted, anxious and overwhelmed...If I just sat at home and tried to force it, I'd only walk away having achieved nothing and feeling worse. Instead, I took it back to basics. I cleared my calendar, grabbed a picnic rug and took Everett down the beach. We simply sat for hours on the grass just watching and listening to the waves as we played. So I was productive. But just not in the way I'd originally planned. I gave myself permission to be slow and ground again. Today I'm feeling refocused and ready to make an impact again. This is your permission to take it back to basics too. Re-ground so you can resurface re-energised again. 💕

How do I find my purpose? This is a question I often get asked (including in my own head!). The answer is 'when you know, you'll know'. Clear as mud, right?! 😉 You can find your purpose at any moment, but you can't force it. You can only guide it. Your purpose is building subconsciously in your mind as it feeds upon the stimuli around you and as you experience life. When your conscious mind steps, it tries to apply pressure and shortcut to a solution. Suddenly you are being taken down a very different pathway (and potentially away from your true purpose). Your head is saying 'Yes' but your gut is saying 'No'. Trust your intuition.
Remove the thinking.
Remove the pressure.
...and allow your purpose to grow inside of you. Imagine for a moment that your only purpose in life was to find take care of yourself. Now that you've done that, the pressure is off. Ok, so what brings you joy? Find the things that excite you more than they scare you and follow your bliss. What actions are you taking (or ceasing) in order to create space for joy? Now find ways to do this everyday. The more you do this, the clearer your true purpose will become. Test it out and see if it fits. And when it feels right, you'll just know. ✨

Last night I had the best sleep! 😍 Earlier in the evening I had my first private Pilates lesson (this was a step up from the gentler post-natal style I’ve been doing for the past 7 months.) I walked out of the lesson absolutely floating, feeling limber and juicy - with a good amount of sore muscles in there too! 😁 And then, I slept like a baby! ...yes it was still a baby which woke up a couple of times for night time feeds BUT it was that beautiful restful sleep! 🥰 Numerous studies have identified the connection between exercise and the effect this has on our sleep. In a nutshell...
👉 Exercise improves sleep quality and increased the overall amount of time you spend asleep. 👉 It increases the amount of time spent in the slow-wave deep sleep phase. This is the restorative stage of sleep where your heart rate and breathing slow and the body physically rebuilds itself. 👉 The post-exercise endorphins released body reduce stress, helping you to fall asleep faster. Not to mention all the other goodness that regular exercise provides such as helping to reduce insomnia, daytime sleepiness, fatigue and depression! Safe to say, I'm loving my new Pilates routine 😊 Can't wait to see how good I'm feeling in a month from now! 🙌 What's your favourite sleep-aiding form of movement? x

This past fortnight has been all about intentional

This past fortnight has been all about intentional imbalance... I have intentionally been quiet in my social media presence. I have intentionally been a little slower to respond to my DMs. I have intentionally done the minimum in my business, whilst I've focused my attention on the thing that is truly important to me - my family. Life is very much about seasons and this was one of them. Instead of the usual mum-guilt I'd feel trying to give myself to everything (and not actually give myself to anything)...I gave myself permission to focus on my family over this break. My cup is full and I'm feeling re-energised to pour fully into my business again come start of school term today. How are you filling your cup?

During a new moon manifestation circle over the weekend, I was reminded of the power of our thoughts and feelings and how these create our reality. @drjoedispenzapolska explains through his work just how powerful the mind really is... "Every time we have a thought, we make a chemical. If we have good thoughts, we make chemicals that make us feel good. And if we have negative thoughts, we make chemicals that make us feel exactly the way we are thinking." Therefore in order to be empowered, have joy or whatever else it is that you desire to have; practise the feeling of already having this. How does that make you feel? Feel it through all of your senses to really amplify it! Once you start to really feel this feeling (I mean REALLY feel it!)...memorise it.
